About
Democracy is a practice — and it takes practice. Democracy Week exists to create space for that work. This year, led by the Center for Democracy and Civic Empowerment, the University of Michigan will host a week of events open to students, faculty, and the broader community: lectures from leading voices, workshops for hands-on engagement, and conversations that cut to the heart of what democratic life requires of all of us. Show up. Listen. Ask hard questions. That's what this week is for.
Submit an event
Democracy Week is built by the community, for the community. If you're hosting a lecture, panel, screening, workshop, or any gathering that connects to the democratic process, we want to know about it. Submit your event and help shape what this week looks like for everyone.
